Stereophonic Experiments in Magnetic Tape and Circuitry

Inspired by the pioneering explorations of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, San Francisco Tape Music Center and Manhattan Research Inc., Max Foreman (Bouquet) & Prudence Rees-Lee (Popular Music) present the first in a series of improvised analog synth experiments for musicassette.

Stereo-atmospherics guided by Oblique Strategy, and recalling the auricular worlds of Delia Derbyshire, Raymond Scott, and the outermost stratosphere of krautrock. A collaboration born of process and chance, the duo’s saturated soundscapes are created with analog synth circuits and rhythm machines, and captured live “in studio,” direct to 8-track cassette.
